Three different integration needs
A booking platform needs content, availability, rates and reservation capabilities. A property management tool may need to update rates and reservations on a distribution channel. A content product may only need authorised property information. Treat these as separate use cases when reviewing providers.
| Product | Explore it for | Before integrating |
|---|---|---|
| Booking.com Demand API | Partner access to travel inventory | Managed Affiliate Partner prerequisites |
| Booking.com Connectivity APIs | Property management connections | Connectivity provider requirements |
| Expedia Group Rapid | Lodging shopping and booking integrations | Partner onboarding and the supported commercial model |
Check Booking.com’s Demand API prerequisites, Booking.com’s developer product overview and Expedia Group Rapid for the provider’s current requirements. These products are not interchangeable access routes to the same contract.
Availability is only part of the response
Model room types, occupancy, rate conditions, taxes and cancellation policies. Establish how you will refresh prices before booking and reconcile reservation states after a timeout. Confirm what happens when an offer changes between selection and confirmation.
Respect content and review rights
Confirm which images, descriptions and reviews you may display, retain or transform. An API response does not by itself establish unrestricted reuse. Keep source identifiers so that updates and removals can reach the right listing.
Add an AI layer around authorised data
AI content tools can help transform information you already have permission to use. They do not, by themselves, supply hotel inventory or replace a booking integration. See the Booking.com API alternatives guide for a workflow-based comparison.
